Where do I catch the water taxi in Tavira?
At the pier in Tavira town centre (Cais MT, Rua José Pires Padinha, next to the ferry), at the Tavira Island pier and in Santa Luzia. We can also pick you up at Quatro Águas, Terra Estreita or Cabanas by arrangement. See the piers
What is Quatro Águas?
It is the pier at the mouth of the Gilão river, about 2 km from Tavira town centre, and the closest point to Tavira Island: the water taxi crossing costs €10. From Quatro Águas to Tavira town centre it is €15.
How do I get to Terra Estreita beach?
By boat from Santa Luzia: €15 per trip in June, July and August (€20 at night) and €30 from September to May (€35 at night). The water taxi also connects Terra Estreita with Quatro Águas (€20), Tavira Island (€25) and Tavira (€40).
Why does Santa Luzia–Terra Estreita cost more outside summer?
In June, July and August we are based at Santa Luzia and Terra Estreita, just for this crossing. The rest of the year the boat is at Tavira and Quatro Águas and has to travel there, so the trip costs €30 (€35 at night).
Is there a water taxi to Cabanas de Tavira?
Yes. Cabanas connects with Quatro Águas and Tavira Island for €30, Tavira town centre for €50, Terra Estreita for €60 and Santa Luzia for €70 (daytime; €5 more at night). We pick you up in Cabanas by arrangement.
