2. Scope
These terms apply to the use of titusboattours.pt and to all services provided directly by Titus Boat Tours, whatever the booking channel: website, WhatsApp, phone, email or at the pier.
For bookings made on third-party platforms, such as GetYourGuide, payment, cancellation and refunds follow only the platform's conditions. The safety, boarding and weather rules in these terms apply to all passengers.
These terms and the Cancellation and Refund Policy are available before booking: on the website, next to the payment button, and, for bookings by WhatsApp, phone or email, through a link sent before any payment. They apply to the booking from its confirmation. How we handle personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
3. Services
- Boat to Fábrica Beach: crossing between the Fábrica pier in Cacela Velha and Fábrica Beach, with a digital ticket.
- Water taxi (Aqua Táxi): boat transport at a set time between Tavira, Quatro Águas, Tavira Island, Terra Estreita, Santa Luzia and Cabanas de Tavira, day and night.
- Boat tours: private or shared tours of the Ria Formosa with a skipper.
- Tailor-made services: sunsets, events, marriage proposals, private boat hire with skipper and more, on request.
Prices, durations, routes and boarding points are shown on the website or in the quote sent to the Customer. The skipper may adjust the route for safety, tide or wind, keeping to the booked service whenever possible.
4. Bookings and confirmation
- The Customer states the service, date, time, number of passengers (adults and children) and their contact details. The details must be true and complete.
- Fábrica Beach tickets: the purchase is confirmed when the payment is accepted; the QR ticket is sent straight away.
- Water taxi, boat tours and tailor-made services: the booking is only confirmed once Titus Boat Tours confirms availability in writing (email, WhatsApp or SMS). Until then it is a booking request.
- Titus Boat Tours may decline a booking when there is no availability, when the details are false or when safety conditions do not allow it.
5. Prices and payment
- Prices are in euros and include VAT at the legal rate. There are no hidden fees: any extra cost is shown before confirmation.
- The water taxi is priced per trip (per boat). From 8 pm to 8 am a night supplement applies, as shown in the route table.
- Accepted payment methods, depending on the service: MB WAY, debit or credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe, Revolut, myPOS, bank transfer and cash on board.
- Online payments are processed by authorised payment service providers. Titus Boat Tours never receives or stores full card details.
- An invoice is issued for every payment. If you need a tax number on the invoice, tell us before paying.
6. Digital ticket and boarding
- The QR ticket is sent by email, WhatsApp or SMS. You can show it on your phone or printed.
- Each QR code is unique and valid for the service, date and number of passengers shown. Once validated at boarding, it cannot be used again.
- We recommend arriving at the boarding point 10 minutes before the booked time. The exact meeting point is in your confirmation.
- If the Customer does not show up at the booked time, the no-show rule in the Cancellation and Refund Policy applies.
7. Cancellations, changes and right of withdrawal
The rules on cancellation, changes and refunds are in the Cancellation and Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Boat tours and tailor-made services are leisure activities with a set date and time, and the Fábrica crossing and the water taxi are passenger transport services. Therefore, under articles 2 and 17(1) of Portuguese Decree-Law no. 24/2014 of 14 February, the 14-day right of withdrawal that applies to other distance purchases does not apply. This does not affect the cancellation rights given by our policy.
8. Safety on board
- The skipper is in charge on board. All passengers must follow the skipper's safety instructions.
- There are life jackets for everyone, including children's sizes. Wearing them is mandatory whenever the skipper says so.
- Children always travel with a responsible adult.
- For safety, the skipper may refuse boarding or end the trip for anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, endangering other passengers or not following instructions. No refund is due in these cases.
- Smoking is not allowed on board.
- Pregnant passengers, people with reduced mobility or with health conditions that sailing could worsen should tell us before booking, so we can prepare the best conditions.
- Pets only with prior authorisation.
- Each boat carries no more than the capacity authorised by the maritime authority.
- Before you book, please note: no special physical fitness is needed; boarding and landing may be at a pier or on the sand, so your feet may get wet; in windy weather there may be waves and spray. Bring sun cream, water and, outside summer, a warm layer. Children travel with an adult; if you are travelling with a baby, let us know when booking.
9. Weather and changes by the company
Sailing depends on the sea, wind, tides and decisions of the maritime authorities. Titus Boat Tours may postpone, shorten, change the route of or cancel a service whenever safety requires. What the Customer can choose in these cases is set out in the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
10. Liability and insurance
- Titus Boat Tours holds the insurance required for maritime-tourism activities, including civil liability insurance and personal accident insurance for passengers, under Decree-Law no. 108/2009 of 15 May and Decree-Law no. 149/2014 of 10 October, as amended.
- Titus Boat Tours is not liable for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings, unless caused by something attributable to it. We recommend protecting phones and cameras from water.
- Titus Boat Tours is not liable for delays or cancellations caused by force majeure or by decisions of the authorities, without prejudice to the refunds set out in the cancellation policy.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury or damage to health, for non-contractual damage to property, or for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, in accordance with article 18 of Decree-Law no. 446/85 of 25 October.
11. Personal data
Personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and Portuguese Law no. 58/2019 of 8 August. Full details, including cookies, are in the Privacy Policy.
12. Website and intellectual property
The texts, photos, logo and design of this website belong to Titus Boat Tours or are used with permission. They may not be copied for commercial purposes without written permission. Titus Boat Tours aims to keep the website accurate and up to date. If a price is obviously wrong, the Customer is told before the service and may cancel free of charge.
13. Communications

- In consumer disputes up to €5,000, if the Customer expressly chooses a consumer arbitration centre, Titus Boat Tours is bound by mandatory arbitration or mediation, under article 14(2) of Portuguese Law no. 24/96 of 31 July, as amended by Law no. 63/2019 of 16 August.

There are Portuguese, English and Spanish versions. If there is any doubt about interpretation, the Portuguese version prevails.
